Heavy duty 1.6 & 2.0 Type 9 laygear with long 18 tooth input shaft & layshaft bush
New 1600 & 2.0 ratio Type 9 gearbox laygear and 18 tooth long input shaft.This is the Uprated or modified type with heavy duty roller bearing on the front.Kit is supllied with a standard type layshaft spindle bush and bearing to accept uprated laygear. ( NOTE: Bush is shown pressed onto a layshaft for illustration purposes only, new standard layshafts are available separately if required)The advantage of this kit is the stronger type laygear bearing can be "retro" fitted to an original early Type 9 standard gearbox case. It is also an easy way of converting a 1.6 & 2.0 standard short shaft Type 9 gearbox to heavy duty long shaft type for converting Triumphs, MGB AND Leyland Itals etc to 5 speed.1st, 2nd & 3rd gears to match are also available on our website.
